Our best dining experience in the USA so far! Delicious, inexpensive meals, a lovely setting and very friendly waitresses! We're from France and love a good meal :-). We were surprised that such a good meal didn't cost more. Our 2 10-year-old children loved it too. A very good family restaurant!

Seafood stew, fried fish, and dessert special was delicious. Definitely worth it for the price. Classic Louisiana cooking.

We stopped in at the beginning of the dinner hour on the recommendation of a local friend. The restaurant itself is closed between lunch and dinner (2-5pm) so plan accordingly. Earlier is better, as the restaurant quickly filled up and we got there shortly after the dinner hour began. It was a seat yourself, and there was ample seating for the size of the restaurant. It also has a bar for seating as well. We were seen to immediately and our server, Brooklyn, was the sweetest and most attentive. The food came out fairly quickly, and everything was delicious and tasted freshly homemade. I have tried seafood gumbos around the state and I must say theirs was as close to a homemade version that you might get in a Cajun momma’s house. I’m sure the chicken and sausage is just as impressive. Their gumbo is definitely a must try. The ample half-basket of onion rings as an appetizer was some of the best I’ve ever had (take that Bobby Flay). The added little zing of red pepper in the breading was a nice surprise. My friend had the pork chop with smothered sauerkraut that was delicious. I had the seafood stuffed portobello with a shrimp and crab, cream sauce over angel hair pasta that was delicious as well. My friend enjoyed the bread pudding with warm almond sauce and I haven’t had cake as lovely as their baba since living in Amish country in PA. I loved the atmosphere that still showed its historic roots from the mid 1890s when Lutcher was a logging town (there’s a short history on their website). An altogether pleasant experience from attentive staff, to the ambience, to the amazing food. Worth a stop just north of the River Road on Main St. You won’t be disappointed.

Great old wooden building atmosphere, good food very friendly staff. I got the daily special and we ordered onion rings for the table. The onion rings were very good and the special was chicken parmesan and it came with a salad.

Great restaurant with real and authentic Louisiana Cajun food made like your mom cooked it. This place is legit and we have been eating there for years. Go for lunch, show up at 11AM, because they are busy for a reason. Go on Friday for the best lunch special within 100 miles.
